The Condor of the Andes or scientifically known as Vultur Griphus, is considered the world's largest bird, is an animal that today is in danger of extinction because they are being hunted to use its strong and beautiful skin, plus another of the reasons why this is in danger of extinction is the loss of their habitat. It feeds on carrion, newborn animals, eggs of other birds, their lives are extended by all the Andes from Venezuela in the north to Tierra del Fuego at the extreme tip of South America, yet today this extension is much smaller. But they are making great efforts to achieve recover this beautiful and interesting species, one such effort was conducted in Cleveland MetroPaqrks Zoo.
